The names of the victims of
the 1857 Mountain Meadows Massacre inscribed on the
Monument on
Dan Sill Hill in 1990 reflect the information that was
available at that time. Later research has proven that
some of that information on the Monument is incorrect.The

of the Mountain Meadows Association website contains corrections of ages, birth years,
and other data that is incorrect on the 1990 Monument. As
the Mountain Meadows Association continues to research and
identify the victims, we have proven that the following
people were not victims of the Massace:
John
Whitely Litton
- His name is not inscribed on the 1990 Monument as a
victim, but family tradition suggested
that he died in the Massacre.
Charles Stallcup
- His name is incorrectly inscribed on the 1990 Monument
as a victim of the Massacre. He was 86 years old when he
died in 1916.
